Libby's Dance Recital 5/12/13

Recitals

On May 10 Lainey had her 1st Grade Music Concert.

She sang so well!

On May 12 Libby had her dance recital and she was a shining star.

Libby requested purple flowers so her dad bought her some to plant in our backyard.

January 2013

Libby sang in her Kindergarten Music Program on January 18th.

Lainey enjoyed watching Sunday Afternoon football games with her dad.

Lainey borrowed these glasses from Mrs. Holton and wrote a song to perform with her dad and sister.  She named it "Googly Eyes".

Libby began weekly dance lessons on January 17th.

2nd Chance Prom

 Dustin and I got dressed up for 2nd Chance Prom held at Hillcrest High School on May 5th.  This was our third year going.  We met up with some friends for dinner beforehand at O'Callahan's, after finding our beloved Thai House had closed down.

Free professional pictures were available this year.  James and Emily brought masks for us to wear in our group shot.

I bought this dress at Fashion Runway for $12.  It's so fun to dress up.  Dustin and I had a great time and danced until 11pm.

2nd Chance Prom

Dustin and I love to dance. I love to dress up, and Dustin loves to do what I say because it makes me happy...just teasing. He doesn't mind wearing a tux once in awhile. Our local radio station hosts "2nd Chance Prom" every year and on April 30, Dustin and I went out on a much needed date.

Before the dance we ate dinner at The Thai House with Dustin's two brothers, their wives, and some friends.

This will probably be the closest we'll ever get to Thailand.

The dance is held at the local high school. Last year just the two of us went to the dance. It was really fun to go dancing with a group this year. It felt like I was in high school again. (Why Dustin keeps making silly faces in pictures, I know not. But I'm sure he does it to annoy me.)

Random Pictures from Last Week

Lainey had her dance pictures taken last month. She did her fake smile for the individual and a frown for the group, but they turned out better than expected. It was rather difficult to get her to stand on the podium and pose. She said she didn't like the background. I don't know what that means.

Libby wanted to take her nap with Barney.

Dustin came downstairs and found the girls like this while watching TV. Is the lap table supposed to be a sled? I don't know.

Lainey is using her imagination more to play with Libby, and Libby just follows her around like a good little sister should. They play "dragon", which consists of running from the couch to the bedroom and slamming the door; they take turns throwing the ball around the basement; they push their babies in the strollers to the "library"; they play "dentist" and "doctor" which involves Libby laying on the floor while Lainey uses the stethoscope. It's fun to watch them!

Lainey is good to share toys and take turns with Libby. Today Lainey made Libby chicken nuggets for lunch. She got the frozen nuggets from the freezer, put them on a plate, and nuked them in the microwave. Lainey is so helpful and turning into a little mother. I just wish she wasn't growing up so fast.
